Thank you Adriano for your excellent article where we can discover many unpublished informations.
Unfortunately, i didn't speak Italian and i had to use an automatic translator so i am not sure to have all understood.
For example, concerning the third "serie", you seem to talk about 3582 pieces delivered (as registered in Longines archives).
if that's the case, I note that this number correspond to the model reference number of this aviator's watch as we can read on the vintage advertising.
I wonder then if it is a coincidence, a deliberate choice of Longines or rather a confusion of interpretation!?
Concerning the earlier movement serial numbers, i already seen serials lower than 3.94 millions as this MK1 belonging to KIBI@watchuseek
I even seen much lower with 3.7 million serial number but housed in a posterior anticorro case (20067) as the 3.94 millions MK1 you report on your article.
The same 5 digits number "20067" we can see on the caseback ref. of an MK3 serie with it's 15.68 caliber (7.45 million serial number, acier inoxydable) you also report on your article.
Which means as you point out that neither the caliber number nor the enameled dial will assume the production period.
Unlike the watchcase which for the early "pre war" 15.94 MK1 must be screwed anticorro cases with movement serial number engraved and without tab (unghiatura).
Here is mine with a 5.6 million serial 15.94 movement (anticorro, screwed, mat enamel antimagnetic dial)
Thank you again for all what you share with us
