Merci pour ces explications.
Un proto donc.
Chapeau.
There is such a blue lapis dial yes, though I don't recall specifically if an E855 had it. I think it's yes though.
I know for sure that this dial did exist, at least as a 'factory part', and maybe as an original watch.
It is likely that a small number of 855 with lapiz type dial were issued at some point.
I do own not a blue 'simili lapiz dial' like this one, but a 'simili rosewood' or 'simili tortoise shell' dial 855 which is in the same configuration (but different colour), for which I am 100% sure that the watch is not a frankenwatch. So, I would tend to believe there could have been a very small number of theses 'simili lapiz' 855 produced.
That being said, the hands of the above watch are definitively wrong (should be of the late 'baton' type), which casts a doubt on the total authenticity of the watch as being fully original.
But I would tend to believe that both the watch and the dial are genuine Jaeger LeCoultre (just not sure if this very watch was initially sold with this dial).
Not certain I did help a lot here with my comments here, but I think there is a high degree of authenticity in this dail and maybe the watch/dial combination....
Example of the so-called "lapiz' dial, likely factory original:

Ce qui veut dire que le mouvement bat à 28 800 alternances par heure, alors qu'on etait à 18 000 et 19 800 sur les précédents calibres.
C'est une abreviation utilisée pour les modeles americains.
Pour les modeles européens, on ne trouvait pas cette inscription sur les cadrans, aucune inscription, ou alors GT ( pour Grande Taille ).
Voili voilou.
